All schools in Suffolk that do not have a compost bin can apply for one FREE ecomax compost bin and one FREE kitchen caddy (while stocks last), to help compost organic waste at school.
The bins are available to order through Schools Waste Education (see contacts below). When you have received your bin, we will arrange a time to come in and help you get started with the composting process and answer any questions you may have.

Composting at school is a great way for you to achieve your bronze, silver and gold awards much quicker in the free pledge to recycle scheme.
Are alll those apple cores from break time, vegetable peelings from the canteen kitchens and shredded paper from the office taking up a lot of space in your normal waste bin at school?
If you compost them though, this will be reduced and you are helping to divert waste from going in to landfill which releases methane gases and is not good for the environment.
Contact school.waste@et.suffolkcc.gov.uk to sign up your school today for the Pledge to Recycle to make a difference today.
