Hardcore and Rubble Waste produced through building and home improvement activities is classified as "construction and demolition waste" not "household waste". As a compromise, HWRCs will accept a small amount of this waste - two bags per household. For large amounts, it is advised that householders can hire a skip, a skip bag, or dispose of the waste at a commercial waste transfer station or landfill site (a charge may be levied).
Hazardous Waste
Most garden chemicals, such as, pesticides are classed as hazardous waste. This means that they cannot be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres. You must ensure that they are properly disposed of. It is best to ring your local District or Borough council to arrange for a hazardous waste collection (this may incur a charge in some areas).
