Due to the ongoing works for the Sizewell C project, Leiston Recycling Centre will need to close on a number of weekends this autumn and winter.
As the Sizewell C project progresses, we have been advised that the Leiston Recycling Centre will need to close on a number of occasions to enable works associated with the project to take place safely in the area - this will include some weekend closures.
We apologise for any inconvenience these temporary closures may cause, and encourage residents to regularly check this website for updates and plan ahead where possible; please consider booking at an alternative Recycling Centre if that’s convenient.
Current Status
The SCC waste team is working closely with the Sizewell C project team to ensure the recycling centre is open as much as possible. Confirmed closures will be published here as soon as they are available.

While some vehicle access for residents may remain available, there is no access for Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs). HGVs are required throughout the day to ensure the site can operate safely, therefore the Recycling Centre will be closed during this period.
