Reduce

Before thinking about reuse, recycling or disposal options for your textiles, have you considered whether they could be repaired?

There are several repair cafes and groups in Suffolk who offer free help to local communities.

Reuse

Offer items in good condition and full working order to charity shops or through an online reuse network.

Pass wearable garments onto younger children as hand-me-downs. Offer unwanted items to friends, neighbours or relatives, or "re-gift" unwanted gifts next Christmas.

Sell through a car boot sale, jumble sale or online market.

Garments beyond repair can be torn up and re-used as rags and wipes.

Recycling

Take any unwanted textiles, including leather belts, to any textiles or clothing bank or to any Suffolk Recycling Centre for recycling.

The Salvation Army also has textile banks specially for worn/unusable textiles in the following locations:
