Vegetarian pet bedding and waste

Find out how to recycle, compost or dispose of pet bedding and waste.

Recycle

You can put small amounts of hutch waste from vegetarian animals in the household composting bin if you live in the East Suffolk area.

Home compost

You can home compost hutch waste (such as straw, hay, shredded paper and droppings) from vegetarian animals only (rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs etc.).

Disposal

You can put vegetarian pet bedding in your household rubbish bin at home.

You can place one manageable bin liner of vegetarian pet waste or hutch material per week in the non-recyclable container at any Suffolk Recycling Centre.
