The Suffolk Waste Partnership scooped a prestigious award for Best Stand Representing Environment and Countryside at this year’s Suffolk Show.

The award was presented by the Suffolk Agricultural Association, organisers of the Suffolk Show. This recognition means a lot and reflects the collective effort that went into preparing what the Partnership has created.

A huge round of thank-you to all that worked hard to bring the stand to life:

  • SUEZ – who run the facility that turns black bag waste into electricity for Suffolk homes;
  • Biffa – who are responsible for the Materials Recycling Facility and deals with treatment of kerbside recyclable waste;
  • FCC Environment – who provide a seamless experience for residents on site of all 11 Household Waste Recycling Centres in Suffolk;
  • The Benjamin Foundation charity – who are the partners and beneficiaries of re-use shops in Foxhall and Bury St Edmunds;
  • Suffolk Master Composter and Repair Café volunteers – sharing practical, real-world advice on sustainable living
  • And of course, Suffolk schools for the fantastic artwork that helped make the stand so vibrant and engaging!

Thanks to everyone’s efforts over the two Show days, we spoke to almost 3,500 people about waste and recycling in Suffolk, received 600 competition entries, helped children create 140+ crafts from reused materials and took part in two radio interviews to spread key messages even further.

We appreciate each and every visitor who stopped by to chat and get involved with our displays as you’d made the event what it was!
