Please don't use your new bins until the new service starts in June 2026.
In June 2026 Recycling and Waste Services will change.
We’ve been collecting recycling from homes across Suffolk for almost 25 years. A lot has changed in this time! New technology means we can now recycle more than ever before. As well as the items you can already recycle from home, you’ll also be able to recycle:
- Glass bottles and jars
- Drinks cartons such as Tetra Pak
- Plastic bags, wrappings and films
- We'll also be collecting food waste separately
As part of changes to waste and recycling services required by Government nationwide, you’ll be getting a new wheelie bin to use alongside your existing ones. For homes where space is limited, you may get a smaller box or sack instead. You’ll also be getting a small food caddy to use inside your home and a larger one to store food waste outside.

What you can put in each bin from June 2026
During May, we’ll send you a detailed information pack and collection calendar.
