Composting

Find out about how to get your school started with composting.

Are all those apple cores from break time, vegetable peelings from the canteen and shredded paper from the office taking up a lot of space in your waste bin at school? Then why not start composting? Composting at school is a fun way to learn about nature whilst also reducing the amount of organic waste that your school produces. An added bonus is that you can actually get to see the end result of your efforts – the compost you make can be used in your school vegetable garden or to beautify your school’s grounds! And don't forget if you need a hand getting your compost started you can contact Suffolk Master Composters (mastercomposters@suffolk.gov.uk) to arrange a visit from a compost expert!
