Plasterboard (gypsum)

Find out how to dispose of plasterboard.

Recycle

Only 4 Suffolk Recycling Centres can take plasterboard:

  • Bury St Edmunds
  • Foxhall
  • Lowestoft
  • Stowmarket

Charges may apply. Find details of the free limit for householders from 31 Dec 2023 here.

Plasterboard must not be contaminated with other materials such as tiles, wood or insulation and must be kept dry. If contaminated it will not be accepted at Recycling Centres or in your general rubbish bin, it needs to be dealt with by a private waste contractor.
